Alumina Trihydrate (ATH)
Hydrated Alumina, also known as Alumina Trihydrate (ATH), or simply hydrate, is more precisely chemically designated as aluminum trihydroxide, Al(OH)3. On heating to 400 ̊F (200 ̊C), hydrated alumina decomposes into 66% alumina and 34% water. Process chemistry is controlled to give a fine product with low impurities and organics. The fine sizing helps make the hydrate easy to dissolve and speeds up reaction times.
